About Me

My name is Sophie Turner and I'm 18. I've been singing since I was six years old and come from a very music based background. I have always been surrounded by singer/song writers, bands and individual acts and have come to love the music industry and plan to have a good career in it one day. I have a very varied singing style, from musical theatre to power ballads etc. My singing has been very much influenced by the likes of Joan Biez, Joni Mitchell, Carol King, Barbra Streisand and Liza Minelli. I am also very much into dancing and acting. I took Music, Drama and Dance at GCSE and came away with very good grades in all three, which I hope will give me a good footing for future work.

I'm very small, being only 5ft but have a lot to give. My voice is very powerful for such a small person and I put a lot of emotion into what I am performing as I believe that with out the emotion, the performance can appear very flat.

I am a very determined young women with a clear view of where I would like to end up in the world, I am just looking for the right opportunity to get me started.

Experience & Qualifications

General Experience

Over and above the work for Whizz Kids Agency, I also recorded a commercially released children's record and video 'Baby Lizard Stew' as one of the two main protagonists. I subsequently performed and was interviewed on the popular children's TV station, Nickelodeon.

As a singer, I have performed at the 'Bedford Club' in London, as a solo artist and also at the 'Bedford Bandstand' on Clapham Common in front of 3,000 people.
