About Me

My name is Samantha Willis and I am an A/Level trained Actor. At 16 I attended Lewisham college where I completed their 'Drama and theatre studies' foundation course. It was there that I learned all genres, ages and styles of theatre and performing. From Sophocles to Claire Dowie.
I was tutored in many styles...Classical, the Stanislavski system and Lee Strasberg method acting.
I have studied many playwrights such as Ibsen, Chekhov, Brecht, Wertenbaker, just to name a few.
While also learning about the many theatre styles...classical Greek comedy and tragedy, Renaissance, Restoration, Melodrama, Realism and Naturalism, Expressionism, Surrealism, the Theatre of the Absurd, as well as many others.
A major part of My learning was dedicated to Shakespeare. Which included the studying of the acting styles used in the Elizabethan era, iambic pentameter, Shakespeare's life, his plays as well as his sonnets.

While studying drama, I performed in many productions in the colleges infamous Tressillian theatre.
It was here that I played 'Duckling' in 'Our Country's good'.
'Priscilla Cuttlesmyth' in 'The Gut Girls'. In which I received acclaim by local press.
'Ohpelia' in Macbeth'.
'Procne' in 'The Love of the Nightingale'.
These alongside many self written, self directed performances across the 2 year duration of the course.

I come from a thespian family. My grandmother was an actress. My grandfather an actor and a well respected theatre manager.
My mother (June Page) and father (Richard Sheridan Willis) are both actors. They married after meeting each other while filming on set of Dr Who (Full circle). My father went on to marry again, to the late Kate O' Mara.
I was very much engulfed in the entertainment world from birth. Often being on TV sets with my mother, or backstage of theatres with my father, also grabbing little parts for myself from time to time.
I spent her childhood performing for anyone that would watch, with such influential family members as my audience. It was with these family members that I have travelled, experienced the art and as a result met lots of talented, well known and respected actors/directors/producers along the way.

As a young adult in my 20's, I decided to take a break from my aspiring future acting career. I felt in order to truly take on the soul of a character, that I first needed to live life and experience it. I spent the decade travelling, experiencing life, many different job roles as well as having children of my own. I am now on the path to fulfil what I was born to do, to carry on the family legacy to become a talented and respected actor.
