About Me
I love wearing 1930s and 1940s clothes and going to 1940s reenactments wearing them with my 3 children dressed as evacuees.I find most of our reenacting clothes on ebay.We have been in BBC Turn Back Time but only for a few seconds here and there- we were not the core customers as my children are away a lot with my ex husband so they didnt choose us to be core customers unfortunately.I dressed up my children as Britannia, Princess Victoria receiving the news of her accession to the throne at 6am in her nightdress and a 1940s boy.My children appeared in these costumes in the Empire Day procession for Turn Back with my son holding a flag we found in my father's flat after he died.
I also love singing and have been practising some 1930s and 40s Gracie Fields and Vera Lynn songs and some Jo Stafford songs.I did a charity tea dance concert in August 2015 and raised £176 singing my songs.it was in aid of AidUganda.org(The Father's Children Ministries)I have found an excellent pianist who has recorded all my backing tracks for the songs eg Happy Ending, After Tonight we say Goodbye, I'm a failure.I love anything to do with 1930s and 40s costume and history.I am a very neat hand sewer if you need any sewing done and love ironing too.
I have a BA Hons degree from Durham University (2:2) in Latin Greek and Theology and have worked at the Bodleian Library in Oxford as well as other places.I would love to be in WW1 or WW2 film with my 3 children or help with costumes.
