About Me

I am a very pleasant person who likes to be surounded by people of different cultures. Traveling is one of my passions, and have lived in many countries around the world. I am very sociable and like to get to know new people. I have graduated and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Performing Arts at the London Metropolitan University last year in June, and I am now studying my Master of Arts degree in Physical Theatre at the Royal Holloway University of London.
Before starting my university degree I participated in a gap year as a volunteer for the non-profit organisation Alpha Omega in Indonesia, an institute for the mentally and physically disabled at Kabanjahe/North Sumatra, where I was responsible for teaching the disabled children. At the Alpha Omega Institute the children enjoy primary and secondary school education, depending on the severity of their illness, and are taught to become independent. The children are taught in agriculture, carpentering, knitting, sewing, and hairdressing.
I had the privilege to live with these extraordinary children, teach them the basics (sometimes simple things, such as eating on their own), play with them, organise events and afternoon activities for them, and teach the German language to Indonesian missionaries, who were planning to live in Germany for a year. This experience has widened my horizon immensely, and has taught me to adapt to different environments and cultures.
My dream is to be successful in my profession, and make the move into the film business - yes, to become one of those famous actresses in Hollywood. Who doesn't? I firmly believe that dreams do come true, if one firmly believes that, and I work ambitiously on the fullfilment of my dream. Giving up is alien to me. Where there is a will, there is always a way. That is my motto.

Experience & Qualifications

General Experience

After my gap year I spent two years in Germany taking part in various theatre workshops, and studying English Philology and History. I lead several amateur theatre projects with my friend Sharlene Anders, who is now directing her own theatre company Hiss and Boo Reloaded, and also worked on a short film, called Homotopia.
Although I have only starred in one big theatre performance (Bakhai) and one short film (The Death Drive) until now, I have gained quite some experience through various theatre workshops, such as the Physical Fest 4 and 5 in Liverpool, and The Creative Actor in Barcelona, a workshop based on Jacques Lecoq's Theatre of Complicity. I have also had the privilege of being able to show my own work of performance art at the Book of Blood Festival 2008.
Thhis year I had the privilege of working with Zecura Ura and Para Active on their latest project 'A Lament for Medea' and was now offered a position in their continuous project 'Hotel Medea'. I also joined a new theatre company, Bo'em, in December 2009 which will be starring at the Edinburgh Festival 2010.
