About Me

This summer I performed in Sheffield People\'s Theatre\'s musical production of \"A Dream\" wrote by Chris bush, which is a modern day mash up of \"Midsummer Night\'s Dream\" and I played a role of an orderly whose job in the play was to spread a love drug, the play taught me so much about how a production with a big cast actually works. I learnt so much from our Musical Director Andrew Griffiths, our movement coach Darragh O\'Leary and director Emily Hutchinson. The play was a massive success and gained a 4 star review rating by The Stage newspaper. After my performance in the play I was offered a free place on the Crucible Summer School project led by National Theatre director Jack Lowe.
This taught me so much about how to devise and dissect a script finding the meaning behind the words in the text. We performed a devised piece on the film \"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind\" in the Studio Theatre, which was a really excellent experience.
For the past three years my ability as an actor has grown through the hard work and challenges that have been put in front of me. On my course we have lessons such as Movement, Singing, Voice, Historical Context, PAB and Development as an actor which I believe each of these lessons give you all the tools to become the complete actor. I have improved my knowledge of performance skills through my college course and extracurricular activities such as National Theatre Connections Festival. I performed in a play called \"Citizenship\" by Mark Ravenhill in which I played a character called Gary a character full of energy and with a very adult humour. We performed at the Sheffield Crucible in the Studio Theatre where the play was a very big success and the feedback I received was excellent. To this day it\'s one of the best experiences I\'ve ever had because it taught me about focus, dedication and the craft and art form of acting.
I am dedicated and driven to becoming a professional actor because this is something I love. This is the craft I have devoted my life too. I want to progress and learn new skills.
I work part time as a bar tender at a bar called \"Stone + Taps\" which is a really busy bar in Rotherham town which means I work at a fast pace. I communicate with lots of different types of people and work well in a team.
My life experiences make me believe that theatre is something so powerful, it reflects on our development as human beings in an ever-changing society.
