Details:

We have a rare opportunity for a charismatic and talented North West-based professional musician to join our team to take over existing choirs in Rochdale, Middleton, Romiley, Saddleworth, Bamford & other areas. This a rewarding position musically. We were the first contemporary choir in the UK and remain the most popular and high-profile. We have won three Guinness World Records, achieved two top-twenty albums, and been the subject of a three-part ITV1 documentary The Choir That Rocks.

As a Rock Choir Leader, you will be fully trained for the role and will need a high standard of piano and vocal skills (Equivalent to ABRSM grade 7). You will also need a positive and energetic approach to work and a caring, happy and charismatic personality.

Our Leaders teach a minimum of 4 evenings a week during term time and have long summer holidays. You would lead your choir members to concerts on a local and national basis. We have a supportive and friendly HQ team who provide you with all the training, resources and arrangements you need to lead your choirs to the best of your ability and you would also train once a month with your peers. There is also the opportunity to be part of recording experiences, and TV and radio appearances!

A driving licence and access to a car (daily) is a necessity and a PA system will be needed to accompany the role.

If you would like to join our expanding team of successful musicians and be part of the next scheduled Rock Choir Training, please fill in our online application form with a view to you choirs starting in April. Apply now even if you think your winter gigs or panto schedule will make you too busy, the training and start dates will be around these commitments. If your application is successful you will be invited for interview and audition at Rock Choir HQ in Farnham Surrey. Please note that Rock Choir will make a contribution to your travel expenses to HQ if invited for interview.

Here is a quote about the role from one of our choir leaders - "I really enjoy working as choir leader. I work with a great team of people, have lots of fun and I am very proud of the choirs I teach, who in a very short space of time have come together to make a fantastic sound. The job satisfaction with this role is tremendous." Jan Moll (Hampshire Rock Choir Leader)
