We need talented actors, singers and dancers for two different shows at the Edinburgh Festival this August.

Performers must live near or have their own accommodation in Edinburgh.

Should you perform in both shows the running time is 2hr:15 mins, with an average fee being paid of £300. per week.

Auditions are taking place on 21/22 MAY at Edinburgh University Students Association, Salisbury Block, 60 Pleasance, Edinburgh EH8 9TJ The Ochil Room on the Friday 21st from 9am to 5.30 pm The Highland Room on the Saturday 22nd from 2pm - 9pm.

Depending on the character you are auditioning for please prepare: 1 song, 1 dance (CD backing track). 1 light hearted even funny monologue.

Young, handsome and British, Ben got twelve years in jail for a crime he didn't commit. Only his hidden love to a beautiful Czech musical star Karin, keeps him going. When reading an advert for performers to audition in a Czech musical, he see a picture of the shows star... Karin!

He decides to escape. Pursued by the police, he gets to the auditions. But, Karin is engagement to Oscar, a power crazed producer.

With a neurotic director, rebellious cast and as long as nobody knows Ben's identity! What could possibly go wrong...

KARIN: Is a beautiful musical star. A very good; Actress, singer and dancer. Playing age: 23 - 28

BEN: Is the handsome guy who is wrongly imprisoned. Skilled, dancer, singer and actor. Playing age: 23 - 32

OSCAR: He is the producer of the musical and engaged with Karin. He is very, very rich. No singing and dancing but a talented actor. Playing age: 30 - 40

RADIM: Is one of the good guys who audition for the musical. He is skilled and trained, but he never got the big part. Highly skilled in singing, dancing and acting. Playing age: 27 - 35

MICHAL: He is a well known musical star and knows how the business works. Very friendly, a gentleman, a star without airs and graces. Highly skilled singing, dancing and acting, Playing age: 40 - 60

THE AUTHOR: is a funny person. The more the physically extreme the better. Must be a natural comic actor, no singing or dancing. Playing age: 35 – 45

PALO: The great and passionate director . A very big character. No singing or dancing but must be a fantastic comedy actor. Playing age: 35 – 55

KRETCHMAR: The policeman instructed to find the escaped prisoner Ben. No dancing but requires a first rate voice and good acting skills. Playing age: 25 - 40

CHIEF OF POLICE: Is very smart young and ambitious chief. In business with Oscar, the producer. He doesn't dance, but has to be a good singer and actor!!! Playing age: 28 - 48

FRANTA: Is a famous musical actor, alcoholic, he has forgotten what a normal life is. Unhappy, always drunk. The actor should be able to dance/stumble a few steps, but has to be a good singer and a great actor. Playing age: 35 - 55

FIILIP: A member of the touring Czech company. He should be an acrobat, highly skilled in singing, dancing and acting!! A comedian!! Playing age: 21 - 40

JANA: A member of the touring Czech company. A trained musical actress. Ambitious, quite pretty. She has to have a sense of humour and skilled dancer. Playing age: 21 - 35

MARTIN: A member of the touring Czech company. He should be a trained musical actor. Preferably with musical skills. Playing age:25 - 40

SOCHURKOVA: A member of the touring Czech company. A great male dancer, with sense of humour. Good looking. Playing age:: 21 - 35

BETTY: A member of the touring Czech company. A trained musical actress. Playing age: 21 - 35

BUBAK: A member of the touring Czech company. A trained musical actress. Playing age: 21 - 35

RENE: A member of the touring Czech company. A trained music
