Details:

YOKE FARM is a 10-minute short about forced labour in the UK. It will be entered into \'UNCHOSEN\' competition and submitted to International festivals.

Summary
A grocery store proprietor, lacking closure after the lengthy disappearance of his son, uncovers a forced labour syndicate when a young immigrant worker from a nearby farm reluctantly asks him for help.
-------
CHARACTER PROFILE:
Male
Ethnicity: Asian (India / Pakistan / Bangladesh)
Age: 18

Story
The main character hasn\'t heard from his son in years, and is a reported missing person. Sat on the counter in the grocery store is a collection box for the missing person\'s charity that campaigned for his whereabouts when he first disappeared.

I\'m looking for a young asian male to have his photo taken next Tuesday 17th June between 630pm and 9pm in Kings Cross with the lead actor for the photograph on the front of the collection box appearing in the film.
You will not be needed for longer than 30 minutes.
------
Here are some quotes from the independent screenplay analysis:
\"YOKE FARM is a short social drama that covers a great deal of time and topics within its ten pages, making good use of imagery and subtext.\"
\"YOKE FARM embodies the maxim to ‘Think global, act local’; Henry can’t put an end to people-trafficking or the slave trade but he can assist one helpless boy, in memory of his own son. It’s an ideal format for a short – a microcosm of a major problem. Henry isn’t an action hero, but is heroic for taking action. \"
\"YOKE FARM takes a less-is-more approach to a hot topic, that of the slave trade in the developed world. This is a timely short, not least since Steve McQueen’s recent Best Picture acceptance speech, wherein he dedicated his win for 12 YEARS A SLAVE to “all the people who have endured slavery, and the 21 million people who still suffer slavery today.” The subtle visual storytelling is impactful and effective. The theme is clearly stated in the title but not rammed home and the juxtaposition of eastern European immigrants within a quaint English village shop is an inspired decision.\"
