Details:

Actors wanted for a short film. "The Cull" is an exciting, daring and controversial genre piece that conforms to the traditions of British dystopian cinema within a social realist framework, whilst also borrowing a style that is distinctly European.

The story is both simple and complex. A local tradesman GARY GOALD, attempts to buy breakfast from a Bakery during a 20 year nationwide cull. He is an honest, hardworking guy with a possible guilty conscience, although this is never overtly addressed. The day is no different to him, or to the characters he meets, including a lonely and attractive Baker with whom he begins to form a close relationship. So when a family of four are literally "culled" due to a choice GARY makes, his complacency to this horrifying act is what ultimately shocks and appalls.

The film is scheduled to start imminently (16th - 19th October) due to negotiations with specific locations (Co-op) for a short period of time. The project has also garnered local media attention.

This is a no-budget production. All costs will be taken up by post-production, so we are unable to pay you, or cover travel and accommodation (if necessary), although we can advise you on where to stay nearby for the best value for money (we are trying to make a deal with a local Hotel).

If this is appealing to you then please get in touch as soon as possible.
