Details:

I will be presenting a performance art work at Tate Modern in January.

The piece will consist of myself and a number of collaborators humming.

The work is intended to evoke a form of misbehaviour common in British schools whereby children hum in unison during a class in order to disrupt the class. The humming is monotone and is usually hard to pinpoint to a single source as multiple children perform it at once.

The performance will involve approximately 20-25 people all humming together in unision in the Tate Modern gallery. The humming will gradually get louder and louder until the last minute when there will be also amplified humming making it very loud
For the performance I need collaborators to join in with the humming. The collaborators will appear to be just regular gallery visitors but when the humming begins they will join in.

The performance will run for just 5 minutes. But it will be performed twice during the afternoon.

The performance will be professionally filmed. I can provide a copy of the final film to participants.

Collaborators would be required to attend Tate Modern on either the 12th or 13th of January (tbc). The performance will happen on the 5th floor of the Switch House building.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Many thanks,
Antony.
