I started acting at school as a teenager and won awards for speaking and elocution. Then as an adult, in between raising my family, I went on to do a lot of amateur revues, singing and dancing, I also belonged to several amateur dramatic groups in Surrey where I played several leading roles including the leading lady in Barefoot in the Park as well as several further plays and nominated for the Best Actress in Kent award, for Terence Rattigan's Deep Blue Sea, shown at the Theatre Royal Margate a few years ago. My latest play was Relative Values by Noel Coward, where I played the leading role.

My other interests are quite varied. I play tennis with a local club two or three times a week, love long walks, theatre, galleries. I love horses and have experience of them from time working with Riding for the Disabled. As a child I belonged to the local pony club and rode regularly for many years.
