About Me
Im a bubbily, fun, outgoing person who loves to have a laugh as well as take my responsabilities seriously. I am very reliable and punctual and will always try my best to succeed in everything i do.
I've always had a passion for performing arts and with the right agency, work opportunities and help, I wish to progress my career another step further in order to achieve my goals and aspirations.
How it all began for me....
I started out by playing the Cello from age 8 when I was in Caerleon Endowed Junior School, and as my playing improved I then joined an orchestra for 2 yrs. I’ve always had a passion for all types of music but at 11 years old I decided playing an instrument wasn’t for me, I wanted to be on stage in musicals, as singing was my number one love, so in my early teens I wanted to try out acting and performing in the Theatre.
When I was 13 I joined a music society in Newport called the “STC Operatic Society” and took part in 4 different performances, including the well-known musical "Brigadoon" and “The Pirates of Penzance”, they were only small roles I played but it gave me the experience and I enjoyed it....
After working in the theatre for a few years, at age 17, I was approached whilst singing on karaoke in a pub by 2 men who were looking to put together a "Steps" Tribute band. I got the lead role as Claire after alot of people auditioned, and after rehearsing for a few months we then toured the U.K and Ireland for almost 2 yrs. We played in the Newport Centre on a number of occasions when we were local and also the Dolman Theatre. We packed out venues with up to 500 people at a time! A fab buzz I got being on stage. We were called "Step To It" and the kids loved us.
Eventually though, I decided it was time for me to move on and launched a career as a soloist. With a little help from my friends I got a few gigs together through a local agency and it took off from there. 10 yrs later I am my own boss, performing in clubs (previously until now, known on the circuit as Shelene), singing at Weddings and at Parties, and I love every minute of it :-)

Miscellaneous Information
My most recent venture had been getting through to the regional, and then the Grand National finals in the OPEN MIC UK 2009 competition. On Saturday October 31st, I performed at a live show in front of a few hundred people competing against others in order to be voted the best on the Mic, trying to win myself a place in the National final during November, and I got through!!! Only 3 of us out of 20 made it through and we were very excited! The competition has been travelling up and down the UK to discover acts with the potential to become the next Leona Lewis, Lemar or James Blunt! Competing for the chance to win from the £1,000 in prizes. The winning act will then have the opportunity to win a recording contract to release their single.
The final took place at The Guildhall, Portsmouth on Saturday November 28th and 23 of my close friends and family came along to support me. We had a wonderful night and the show went well. Unfortunately i didn't win but had much fun trying.
