I am a fashion designer, coming to the end of my course at Falmouth Uni, and I am looking to update my portfolio with my new work.
MY PROJECT : My resort project was inspired by my travels to Cuba, in particular it's retro aesthetics, in comparison to 1950's/60's America. I created a collection that is soft, cooling & comfortable to wear, for a customer that wished to travel for a wealth of cultural experiences. The colour palette is soft & pastel (blues, yellows & nudes) with a vibrant flash of burnt umber, to reflect the heat of the destination.
THE PHOTOSHOOT : I am hoping to do a photoshoot/lookbook for my swimsuit piece & cover-up. The swimsuit is a regular shape with a complex digital print, inspired by the Cuban culture & placed on the garment to flatter the figure. While the cover-up is made from a pale blue silk satin, cut on the bias to drape beautifully, with a silk kimono aesthetic. The photoshoot will either take place within a studio, with a digital background inserted (similar to BCBG Max Mara's Resort 2014 lookbook background) or in an outdoor location, fitting to the aesthetics of the collection. The mood will be clean cut, with a feminine feel & a confident model, while make-up will be natural, with a twist of American retro.
THE MODEL : I am open to a range of models, however you must be confident in front of a camera within a swimsuit. The photographer will be a good friend of mine & she is lovely, so it will be an informal, friendly shoot, but with a professional outcome for all our portfolios!
