Auditions for Much Ado About Som'at!

RumDoxy Theatre are looking for three male actors to join them on their next tour.
Much Ado About Som'at is an adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing one of RumDoxy's 'Shakespeare on a Shoestring' productions; a 90 minute adaptation that holds onto the original themes and language. RumDoxy use minimal staging, actors, props and costumes combined with passion, movement and music to transport the audience into a unique world of Shakespeare's best known characters.

Synopsis
Beatrice and Benedick fight with their emotions with wit and words. Hero's innocence and requited love for Claudio is called into question when Don Jon provides, seemingly undeniable, proof of her disloyalty. Don Pedro and Leonato try to keep good relations between all as the wedding draws closer and Hero's asked to defend herself.
Is her plea of innocence enough to melt Claudio's heart?
Or will Don Jon's plan of jealous revenge succeed?

This adaptation is set in the 1980's.

RumDoxy are looking to cast...

Benedick - (Playing age: 20 - 25) Benedick is charming, witty and confident. Most importantly, he believes he is immune to love. This gives him an air of arrogance, he is flippant and cocky with his speech.

Claudio/Borachio - (Playing age: 20 - 25) This will be a multi-role casting. The characters are very different so they require a versatile actor. Claudio is a doting man, clumsy, and is open to manipulation, he is very much in love with Hero. Borachio if a classic fool.

Don Pedro - (Playing age: 25 - 30) Powerful and charming, the younger characters look up to him; he woo's Hero for Claudio. Don Pedro admires Beatrice.

Rehearsals will be predominantly over weekends during September leading to weekend performances through October and some of November.

This production is profit share.
