Angela is a forty-year-old housewife with an unfulfilled artistic dream. When her seventeen-year-old daughter Lorna tells her she has the chance to become an artist’s assistant in Paris, she is overwhelmed by a deep jealousy rooted in her missed opportunities.

The two women get into a discussion in the kitchen where Angela is preparing dinner. Lorna tries to get her mother’s acceptance while Angela gives her short and dry answers.

After Lorna leaves the room, Angela is faced with the hard realisation that she is jealous of her own daughter and her only reason for stopping her fulfilling her dream is the frustration of her own.
