TSWHNF is a tragic comedy that satirizes all those dreadful Channel Four treatments of poverty, disability, and sexuality. Think; “The Secret Lives of Living Dolls”, “The Human Mannequin”, and “The Man With 10 Stone Testicles”. We’re influenced by British comedies like Peep Show, Nighty Night, and The League of Gentlemen; we’re looking for actors who can play absurdist situations very straight.


TSWHNF follows Michael, a naïve young man who was born with a debilitating condition - Prosopanism, or No Face Syndrome. He permanently wears an expressionless mask that is inadvertently terrifying to look at- as a result many people are scared and repulsed by him. Despite these struggles Michael has become obsessed with the idea of becoming a professional stripper to prove to the world that he too is sexy. The film follows his pursuit of success. He starts an online campaign to raise money for stripper school, and inadvertently becomes a viral sensation - unbeknownst to him people are only showing their support to humiliate and ridicule him online. Due to his internet fame a documentary crew begin making a cynical film about his life. He is also encouraged by people who believe he can bring them money and fame, despite the exploitation.


If you’re ambitious like us and want to be in something different, we’d love to hear from you. This is unpaid however we will give you a reel. Filming would be on the 26th, 27th and 28th of November in Brighton, and would only last around 3-4 hours for each day. If you are only able to do one of the days listed, we can also be flexible around that.
