The Company

Divergent Theatre Collective is an exciting new theatre company based in London. It is a union of British and International theatre makers. The Collective believes in the power of collaboration. It fuses different creative individuals’ art form as the dynamic force, in developing innovative theatrical works and having fun in the process.

With the UK General Election looming this spring and with ‘immigration’ as one of the major theme, Divergent Theater Collective launches their 2015 season with Illegals: The Game Show, a new work by Roman Berry/ Eleanor Sy Templeman, with music by Rachel Hylton Smith and lyrics by Timothy Vest. It is a 'development' theatre project documenting a migrant’s rite of passage. Devised by a group of creatives from diverse art forms, this is the first of a four part series which comments on contemporary social sensibilities and awareness.

The Show:

New page. New life. New land.
I can have good money.
I can send good money.
I can find good money.

No more dried fish.
a migrant dreams!

Three travelers search for prosperity in the Kingdom. A Domestic Worker proudly follows a heroes path, a Trafficked Sex Worker look for love and a Freedom Seeker escapes an oppressed past. Through poetry, music and dance, their adventure unfolds. But life in the Kingdom is not what it seems.
