Details:

We are looking for 1 actress from mixed non-British background, age 35 to 45, to perform the lead role on 15 and 16 June at Chats Palace, East London. Successful candidate must be able to start immediately and be available to rehearse on Wednesday evening, Friday and Saturday morning.

The play, A Taste of Marmite, is a contemporary kitchen sink drama written and directed by Emilia Teglia, artistic director at ISCaD. You can read more about ISCaD at http://iscad.org.uk/iscad/

A Taste of Marmite, a clear tribute to Sheilagh Delaney’s 1950s play, tells the story of a group of flatmates building a new life in London. Confronting their past and finding the courage to create a new future, the tenants find themselves united in the fight against a broken boiler and a leaking roof. But it is a lie that finally bonds them together. The play deals in bitter-sweet ways with issues of cultural relocation in London. Silva, the lead role, is a strong personality with a difficult past. This role would suit performers with experience of Naturalist theatre and looking to develop their experience in contemporary international theatre and new writing.

Auditions will take place on Wednesday 23 April, 17.30 - 18.30 at Mostart. Rehearsal will start on Saturday 27 April and take place every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning until opening.
